Welcome to our medical school admissions mock interview. This interview will allow you to practice your interview skills and prepare for the real thing. Let's get started!

Interviewer: Could you please tell us a little bit about yourself and why you want to be a doctor?

Applicant: Hello, my name is John, and I recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from XYZ University. I've always been interested in science and medicine, and I want to be a doctor so that I can help people live healthier and happier lives.

Interviewer: Excellent, John. Can you tell us about a specific experience that inspired you to pursue a medical career?

Yes, when I was young, I had a family member who was diagnosed with a chronic illness. It was both difficult and inspiring to watch them go through the diagnosis and treatment process. It demonstrated the impact that healthcare professionals can have on their patients' lives, and I knew I wanted to be a part of that.

Interviewer: That is a fantastic motivator. Could you tell us about your academic background and research experience?

Applicant: I graduated with a 3.8 GPA from XYZ University, where I studied science and medicine. In addition, I participated in a summer research program in which I worked in a lab to study the effects of a specific medication on cancer cells. This experience aided in the development of my critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, as well as the confirmation of my desire to pursue a career in medicine.

Excellent, said the interviewer. Can you tell us about your volunteer work and how it helped you prepare for medical school?

Yes, I have volunteered at a local hospital, assisting nurses with patient care and providing emotional support to patients and their families. I've also volunteered at a community clinic, where I assisted doctors with patient exams and helped with administrative tasks. These experiences have taught me the value of empathy, communication, and teamwork in healthcare, all of which I believe will be necessary in medical school and beyond.

Interviewer: That's wonderful to hear. Finally, could you tell us about your future medical goals and how you intend to achieve them?

Applicant: My ambition is to become a primary care physician and work in an underserved community where I can improve the lives of my patients. To accomplish this, I intend to continue gaining clinical experience through volunteering and internships while also excelling in my studies in medical school. I also intend to stay current on medical research and technology in order to provide the best possible care to my patients.

Interviewer: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us and for sharing your experiences and goals. We wish you all the best on your path to becoming a doctor.
