Defamation Policy


Introduction

United Medical Group, PLLC, and YOURMD.ONLINE LLC (hereinafter "the Companies") are committed to maintaining a positive reputation and protecting the integrity of our brands. However, we recognize that false or defamatory statements about the Companies or our leadership can be damaging to our reputation and business.


Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to provide guidance on the appropriate use of language when discussing the Companies and to outline the consequences of defamation.


Defamation

Defamation is defined as the act of making a false statement that harms the reputation of an individual or business.

Defamation can take many forms, including written statements (such as on social media or in a blog), spoken statements (such as in a conversation or on a podcast), and visual statements (such as in a video or cartoon).

Consequences of Defamation

The Companies will not tolerate defamation of our brands or our leadership. Any individual or entity found to be engaged in defamation will be subject to legal action.

In addition to legal action, any employee or representative found to be engaged in defamation will also be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.

Customers or other third parties found to be engaged in defamation may be subject to account suspension or termination, depending on the severity of the violation.
